Pop Up Parramatta is a project of Parramatta City Council with co-funding from Arts NSW with input from valued project partners. It’s transforming Parramatta and Epping into a thriving hub where creative practitioners create, develop and sell their work.
There is a vibrant mix of creative practitioners and creative organisations in Western Sydney and there’s so much potential for greater connection between all of these diverse individuals and groups.
Pop Up Parramatta will offer training and support to develop and grow the skills of practitioners in this area; it will offer opportunities for connections between different individuals and arts organisations in Parramatta, but also more widely across Sydney and internationally. It’s aims are to build a strong, vibrant, connected and developed creative community.
This project is part of a network of empty spaces projects across Australia with the research component underpinned by the UTS Community Shopfront Empty Spaces. It’s based on the successful Renew Newcastle model. There are projects at City of Sydney, Gosford, Gold Coast, Lismore, Townsville, Geelong, Rozelle, Wollongong and North Sydney (Crows Nest).
Please note applications for a Pop up Parramatta space are currently closed and will re-open on 30 November 2012.
