NEW WESTSIDE PUBLICATION: ON WESTERN SYDNEY

Westside Publications launches its latest publication! On Western Sydney is a collection of stories and observations by professional writers who live and breathe the Western Sydney region every day.

Westside Publications has published a new anthology that provides a unique and honest depiction of Sydney's infamous western suburbs. The anthology is the second and final edition of the new series of Westside: the only ongoing literary journal in Australia to recognise professional writers from Western Sydney.

On Western Sydney is about the real Western Sydney, the people, the places and the experiences.

Chief Editor of Westside Publications, Michael Mohammed Ahmad says the publication challenges the limited and negative perceptions of the Western Sydney community that have been presented in popular culture. This anthology is a more complex and realistic depiction of Western SydneyAustralia's most populated and culturally diverse place.

On Western Sydney features poetry and prose by: Felicity Castagna, Fiona Wright, Lachlan Brown, Luke Carman, Amanda Yeo, Susie Ahmad, George Toseski, Peta Murphy, Tamar Chnorhokian, Kavita Bedford, Lina Jabbir, Miran Hosny, Samantha Hogg, Peter Polites, Rebecca Landon, Auday Al Sheikh, Andy Ko, Frances Panopoulos, Arda Barut, Pip Smith, Philip Hall, Mariam Chehab, Hasan Bajis, Tim Carroll, Nitin Vengurlekar, Randa Sayed and Michael Mohammed Ahmad.

On Western Sydney has been published by Westside Publications, the literary program of Bankstown Youth Development Service (BYDS)
