The 7th Sydney Latin American Film Festival (SLAFF) is proud to announce its 2012 program! A selection full of liberating journeys into madness and medicine, birthday desires, zombies and local takes on Latin cinema coming in September to a screen near you.
This year's Festival is spread across ten days and four venues. Opening on September 6 at Dendy Opera Quays for five days of film, it follows with return engagements at cult screening den, the Mu Meson Archives and Marrickville’s Addison Road Centre, before settling down to bring Bankstown and film back together in Sydney’s west.
And in October, the annual, free Human Rights screening and discussion brings the serious side of Latin America to Macquarie University.
In 2012, the Festival will remind you why Latin America movie makers bring ideas to film like no other culture. With an opening night Fiesta in the City, a closing night blow-out featuring the only the best in Cuban zombie cinema and starting all over again in Bankstown’s über-cool Arts Centre.
Tickets are on sale now (with earlybird pricing available for opening night at the Dendy). Whatever your flavour in Latin Film, this year’s Festival selectionhas something to whet your appetite.
