Nominations for the 2012 artsHub awards open on August 16 2012. Winners will be announced on our website on November 20, 2012. Know someone who deserves kudos for their efforts in the arts? There are eight categories, read on!
The EIGHT categories for the 2012 artsHub Awards are as follows:
- The Youth Arts Award
for outstanding achievement by an artist between the ages of 16 and 30, meaning a notable success by an individual artist in this age group.
- Emerging Artist Award for an individual
For outstanding achievement by an emerging artist, meaning a notable success by an individual artist, who identifies as ‘emerging’ and has had only minimal (if any) paid professional experience in their field.
- The Emerging Company Award for a group or small company
For outstanding achievement by an emerging artistic group or small company, meaning a notable success by a group or small company, which identifies as ‘emerging’ and operates as a voluntary co-op or part time professional group or company.
- The Innovation Award for an individual
or innovative achievement by an artist, meaning a notable highly creative and original piece of work produced by an individual artist.
- The Innovation Award for a group, organisation or company
for innovative achievement by a group, organisation or company, meaning a notable highly creative and original piece of work produced by a group of artists, arts organisation or company.
- Contribution to the Australian arts community by an individual
. For a significant contribution to the arts community by an individual artist, meaning the delivery of a notable work or offering which positively engages other artists, arts organisations or companies in its execution.
- Contribution to the Australian community by a group, organisation or company
For a significant contribution to the arts community by a group of artists, arts organisation or company, meaning the delivery of a notable work or offering which positively engages other artists, arts organisations or companies in its execution.
- artsHub Engagement Award
for the quantity of content on artsHub’s website and conversation on artsHub social media outlets in regard to a particular arts project, story or show attracting the most Facebook likes, tweets, pins on Pinterest, website page views and unique visitors.
Aside from the artsHub Engagement Award which is judged purely on figures achieved, there are two awards in each category:
• Critics’ Choice (selected by a panel of industry judges)
• People’s Choice (chosen by popular vote)
