Position Artist / Art Therapist
Liz Rummery,
Artist & Registered Art Therapist. (ANZATA P2005N-187)
I am interested in delivering workshops for the general community that focus on the creative process as a healing and transformative process; a way of being with oneself that encourages and strengthens inner dialogue.
As an artist my studio practice includes pinhole photography; sculpture in various mediums: including found objects, and driftwood; drawing and collage. My work is process orientated and I approach making as a form of inquiry, in order to know more about a subject or issue of importance to me; in this sense my art has been a form of spiritual practice.
As an art therapist I am experienced in working with children, adolescents and families using art making and the creative process as a healing process and way of making sense of life experiences. I have worked in both child protection and generalist counselling fields. I also have experience in working as a carer in the disability sector and am interested in furthering this work, as an arts worker.
