Covering 305 square km and 39 suburbs, the Liverpool area stretches across on the land of the Daruk, Tharawal and Gandangara tribes. Today more than 164,000 people call Liverpool home and 38% of them were born overseas.

Liverpool's cultural facilities include the renowned Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, Liverpool Regional Museum, Collingwood House, Army Engineer Museum, and Pioneers' Memorial Park.

The Council support a diverse range of arts and cultural events throughout the year with themes like Harmony Day, Youth Week, Sorry Day, Refugee Week, NAIDOC, Children's Week, and the International Day of People with a Disability.

Community 2168 small grants program
Local residents and community groups can receive assistance to develop projects that benefit the community in the 2168 postcode area. The program has funded community projects that focus on particular objectives like building skills and/or job opportunities, providing opportunities for young people, and building community connections. Community Donations program
Through this program Council can assist the community in providing programs and services which meet identified community needs. The three categories of funding include Youth, School, and also General Community. For more information contact the Community Services Team on 02 9821 7717.

Community Development and Support Expenditure (CDSE) Scheme (clubs funding)
This scheme is a state-wide initiative that requires Clubs which earn over $1 million annually in gaming machine revenue to provide funding for community projects. Council's role is to administer the scheme and assist the Clubs to distribute the funding to the projects most needed by the community. Community Builders program
This community strengthening and capacity building program (funded by the NSW Dept of Human Services - Community Services) provides funds on an annual basis for time-limited projects in particular regions of NSW that focus on community development.
