FISHER'S GHOST YOUTH ORCHESTRA

Formed in 1987 with only four members,  our membership now includes around 70 members. The orchestra was recognised for it's contribution to the youth of South-West Sydney, when it was awarded a Queen's Trust Award in 1997.

Every year, the orchestra performs at a variety of events. In our repertoire you'll find an ever-growing mix of the traditional to the progressive: classical, baroque, romantic, modern, post-modern, ballet music, film music, music from musicals, music from operas, Irish and other folk music, and even music from computer games. The orchestra is active in performing premiere performances of new works, including some by it's own members.

Since 2001, the orchestra has operated a second ensemble, the Training Orchestra, to cater for younger and/or developing musicians. The Training Orchestra also perform at our own Concert Series. Most Training Orchestra members eventually 'graduate' to the main orchestra.
