Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre is proud to bring you South West Sydney’s only  contemporary arts festival for children. The Way Out West Festival for Children is on in the winter school holidays from 11 – 14 July and it’s absolutely FREE!

As well as premiere performances, the festival program has stimulating hands on art-making workshops, a disco for babies and exhibitions all in an atmosphere designed to explore and encourage creativity and imagination.

WOW will also host the YPAA National Symposium. YPAA (Young People and the Arts Australia) is the national peak body for organisations and practitioners engaging young people in the arts. The annual symposium will highlight the achievements of youth arts and provide networking opportunities, panel discussions, workshops, performances and more.

Kiersten Fishburn, Casula Powerhouse Art Centre Director, said the Way Out West Festival for Children or WOW builds on the achievements of the Casula for Kids Festival in 2011 while incorporating exciting new elements.

Ms Fishburn said: “Casula Powerhouse is committed to bringing engaging and inspiring creative, inspiring and engaging programming to children and their families in Western Sydney and beyond.”

For more information about the festival programme, dates and times, please visit www.wayoutwestfestival.com.au or phone 9824 1121. Bookings open 10am, Monday 4 June. All events are FREE but bookings essential for most events.
