Annette is an experienced teacher and performer with over ten years experience in West African-style drumming and dance. In 2002 she studied at the Kusun Cultural Centre, with private tuition with master drummer Adotey Richter, in Ghana , West Africa . On return she continued studies with master drummer Tuza Afutu in Sydney .
She has an extensive background in movement and dance, having taught in universities, schools and the community for many years, as well as performed and created movement and text-based performances for theatres, galleries, and natural environments.

RITUAL STUDIES
Originally trained in dance, Annette also holds an MA in Dance from UCLA, and a Phd in Social Ecology from UWS focusing on performance-ritual. These studies encapsulate her other area of expertise, comparative religious practice. Her thesis, Centre of the Storm, establishes a ground for the formulation of contemporary belief and ritual practice in the Australian context. For details: handle.uws.edu.au:8081/1959.7/771.
