Ana Tiwary

 

Ana Tiwary is a producer/director, with over eleven years of experience in a wide variety of media such as Features, TV shows as well as Documentary. She owns and runs her own production company called 'inDiVisual films'. She is passionate about every aspect of filmmaking, from concept to screening; be it cinematography, editing and webdesigning.

She earned a Masters Degree in Film and Video Production from the American University in Washington DC and holds a second Masters in English Literature from University of Mumbai. Ana won the Gold Medal for her B.A. in Communication and Video Production and the Best Film Award for her first film entitled 'Breath of Life'. In 2006 she traveled to war torn Liberia to shoot a documentary about the peace movement and election of the World's first black woman President - Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

From interviewing Hillary Clinton to filming in Bombay slums; from working at National Geographic Channel to 'Bollywood' films, Ana's exciting career has taken her through amazing experiences and exotic locations around the world – North America, Africa, Asia, Europe and now Australia.  In 2007, Ana moved to Sydney and produced a short film to promote science education among Aboriginal Students for the University of Western Sydney.  She was also involved with the WOW (World of Women) Film Festival as Technical Consultant and collaborating with international tour partners. In 2008 Ana was appointed Vice President of WIFT NSW and designed the Media Mentorship for Women program. She also worked at Goalpost Pictures and the Australian Directors Guild (ADG). Currently she volunteers as the Mentorship Program Director for the Media Women in Business mentoring program at WIFT NSW.

In 2009 Ana was a finalist for the prestigious NSW Woman of the Year Award. She participated in the SMPTE 09 Expo & Conference organizing committee and designed 'Career Corner'. In 2009/10  Anaworked as the Sydney Project Director for the 48 Hour Film Project. In 2010, she launched the Celebrating World Cinema talk series and continues to work on creative and challenging initiatives.
